Steps to Take in Case of an Accident

If you are a witness or victim to a collision, here is what you must do:

  • Get medical help even in the case of minor injuries.

  • Contact the police.

  • Obtain the driver’s license number and insurance information of the vehicles involved in the accident.

  • Make a note of the names and contact information of any of the witnesses.

  • Do not admit fault; leave it to the police and insurance adjusters.

  • If a camera is available, capture the damage and the accident scene.

  • If vehicles are functional, safely move them aside to avoid blocking traffic.

To make a claim, contact the “1-800” number on your liability card and contact your broker.
